Clicks for Pixel: Basics

Adding & removing Clicks

Insert your Pixel at a shallow angle and push it securely onto the USB-C connector. To remove press on the camera module and then slide Pixel out.

Holding Clicks

Rest your phone on your pinky and cradle the back with your middle fingers. This grip will support your phone and allow you to type comfortably.

Show/hide the virtual keyboard

It can take a couple days to feel confident and comfortable typing on Clicks. Not to worry as the on-screen keyboard can be accessed anytime by holding the ‘alt’ key and tapping ‘k’ when in a text field.

Master Typing

Uppercase letters, numbers and symbols

There are a few ways to type a capital letter:
  • Hold shift and tap a letter to get an upper case letter. \
  • Tap shift and then the next letter you press will be upper case\
  • Double tap shift and you will go into caps lock. 
The same concept applies to alternate characters (numbers & symbols) using the ‘123’ key

Typing emoji with Clicks

Hold ‘alt’ and press ‘k’ to reveal the on-screen keyboard. Then tap the emoji icon to bring up the emoji tray.

Connectivity

Android Auto

Clicks supports Android Auto with USB-C data passthrough. Hold ‘123’ and tap spacebar to enter USB-C data mode then connect your phone to your car with a USB-C cable. 
‍_Note: USB-C passthrough does not work with wired headphones._

Clicks App

Customize your return key

Some people expect the return key to act as a ‘send’ button while others want it to add a new line. Use the Clicks app to choose your preferred return key setup.

Backlight settings

Configure the backlight brightness and timeout period to your preferences. 

Battery saving mode

Clicks draws very little charge from your Pixel to power the keyboard. Power saving mode reduces the draw even further by disconnecting Clicks when not in use.
